Step 5: Preparing and Negotiating an Offer
Congratulations, you’ve made it to one of the most important steps in the real estate buying process! You have found a home that meets your needs and are prepared to make an offer. This may seem, especially for first-time buyers, like a very intimidating step, but the Tonkinson Team will ensure you are comfortable and informed throughout this exciting process.
We will review with you all information and details required in a purchase contract. Everything from possession date, attached goods, deposits, proper conditions and ultimately, the offering price, are reviewed and discussed, to ensure you are comfortable before proceeding.
Negotiating the best price and terms for you is our specialty. Evaluating all of the comparable property in the area that has recently sold is a valuable tool we use to determine what fair market value is. In a buyer’s market, negotiating power is on our side and we will use all of our resources to ensure you get the best price on your dream home.
We have many options for obtaining signatures and will accommodate your preference, from sitting with you and getting hard copies, to using Docusign, allowing you to sign digitally on your phone or computer from anywhere you are.Don’t forget, the list or asking price does not mean that is what the home is worth. Collectively, our team shows over 100 properties every week. Our experience in evaluating the property, an exten-sive comparative market analysis, and our unique algorithm, will educate you on a home’s true market value and what a fair offer would be. Always remember, there is no risk to making an offer, as most are conditional.
